Benoit Viellefon is proud to present his HOT CLUB at the Brasserie Zedel every night of the week in June (9th to 14th), July (14th to 20th), and then one week a month every month from this autumn. Please check the gig listing for further info.
The HOT CLUB is inspired by the hot swinging music that emerged from the infamous Parisian Cafés and nightclubs of the 1920s & ’30s.
The show celebrates the burning excitement of those sizzling gypsy swing numbers made famous by Django Reinhardt, together with the romanticism of the finest musettes and waltzes from the French tradition.
With a nod to the American jazz virtuosi who visited Paris, such as Louis Armstrong and Sidney Bechet, HOT CLUB features both trumpet and clarinet alongside the timeless two-guitars and double bass lineup. The perfect mix of European finesse and the restless fervour of American swing, HOT CLUB are the modern-day embodiment of the spirit of a bygone age.
