Sell out at the first Gin & Jazz Evening at InterContinental Park Lane

Review by Simon Burrell for “OUR MAN ON THE GROUND” magazine

Thursday saw the successful launch of The InterContinental Park Lane’s first monthly Gin & Jazz Evening featuring the amazingly talented Benoit Viellefon & His Orchestra.

The event was a sell out with everyone there enjoying this fabulously talented Jazz Band with songs sung in both French and English with the audience even joining in on the last number!

The two cocktail tasters on offer were fabulously tasty: The Alexander and Martinez.

Come and enjoy creative classic Gin cocktails accompanied by some great Jazz at The InterContinental Park Lane.

From 8pm to 10pm on the third Thursday in every month the lounge in the hotel transforms itself in to a Jazz Club.

The launch evening featured the amazingly talented Benoit Viellefon & His Orchestra and was a sell out with everyone there enjoying this fabulously talented Jazz Band with songs sung in both French and English and the audience encouraged to join in on the last number! For two wonderful hours you are transported back in time with even the waitresses wearing the most wonderful authentic outfits.

Signature Hendrick’s cocktails starting at just £8 are paired with the monthly acts. You will also get the chance to do some complimentary gin tasting courtesy of The Arch Bar team. We were treated to the Alexander Cocktail consisting of Hendrick’s Gin, white chocolate liqueur, double cream and Martinez Cocktail made up of Hendrick’s Gin, orange bitters, Carpano Antica Formula and maraschino cherries. We were also invited to try some Gin infused jelly which was quite amazing!

Signature cocktails included the Poor Man’s Punch and Commodore. Click here to see the full line up.

The hotel’s Executive Chef Paul Bates has put together a limited edition bar menu to really bring out the cocktails and add to the ambience of the evening. Sharing plates for two start at £12.50 and are excellent. We were pretty hungry and thought the two mini buffalo and foie gras hamburgers sounded good and filling. As it turned out, they were the perfect size and were accompanied by the most delicious tempura tiger prawns.

Thursday 15th December will see Emilia Mårtensson, 19th January Viper’s Dream with Elisa Caleb. Click here to see the complete line up. Whilst entrance is complimentary it is advisable to book a table in advance.
